http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1118048 Bug ID: 1118048 Summary: Historic(?) modules loaded for modern graphics card Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org Assignee: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: Ulrich.Windl@rz.uni-regensburg.de QA Contact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 791523 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=791523&action=edit Screen shot (YaST2) showing automatic dependencies for online update After installing a ATI/AMD Radeon RX560 graphics card and calling updates, the following modules were automatically added to the update: libvdpau_r600-18.0.2-lp150.17.2.x86_64 libvdpau_r300-18.0.2-lp150.17.2.x86_64 libvdpau_radeonsi-18.0.2-lp150.17.2.x86_64 xf86-video-ati-18.0.1-lp150.1.1.x86_64 xf86-video-mach64-6.9.5-lp150.1.4.x86_64 xf86-video-r128-6.10.2-lp150.1.8.x86_64 Actually I still have a PC with a 90MHz Pentium CPU and a PCI ATI Mach64 Graphics card, but that is something like 20 years old. Likewise the R128 is somewhat newer, but still quite old, and I'm unsure about the others... What is the reason to add those packages? Just adding everything that looks like an AMD (formerly ATI) graphics card? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
