(factory) - clean install using defaults on a x86 laptop. - Booted the install from factory (boot.iso) ok - Installed the software ok (default selection) - At the reboot for the next stage it could not do any more, because it could find a kernel to boot from. It came up with the "error 15: file not found" After further investigation with a live cd, /boot/initrd -> initrd-2.6.24-2-pae symbolic link exists, but file initrd-2.6.24-2-pae does not exist. Possible solution: Therefore i ask is it possible to include an option to 'reinstall kernel option' in the custom repair options, so a working kernel can be put in place, In case something does not happen or kernel gets corrupted. Btw is there a way, Where can get a copy of 'initrd-2.6.24-2-pae' so I can copy it to the /boot location , or kow can i install a working kernel when this system does not boot. at all ?
