https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=728259 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=728259#c0 Summary: gdm crashes on login Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: michael@kofler.cc QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other Blocker: --- openSUSE RC1, all updates installed as of Nov. 4th, plus NVIDIA driver (manual installation) normal startup with autologin works when I log out, before I can login again, a graphic with a :-( smiley is shown, also the really helpful message: "Leider ist ein Problem aufgetreten. Bitte kontaktieren Sie den Systemadministrator." (Sorry there is a problem. Please contact your administrator.) No indication about what problem, neither about which program is causing the problem. The same problem occurs on *every* login attempt if autologin is disabled in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager. With some trial and error I could resolve the problem by installing lxdm and changing /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager accordingly. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
