I don't see how the original report is confusing. I can reproduce the issue as well, but only sometimes. Here are the exact steps:
1. Turn on the computer. 2. Log in as a normal user. 3. Open konsole. 4. Type "su" and hit enter 5. Enter the root password and hit enter. 6. Type "yast2" and hit enter.
Observed results: 7. The following text is output on the command line: No protocol specified y2controlcenter: cannot connect to X server :0
Expected results: 7. YaST2 should have launched
The problem happens very rarely. Rebooting fixes it.
Can you still reproduce it? I can't now. It seems online update has fixed the issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
