@Wolfgang Rosenauer:
- matchOS is set to "true"
- in Add-ons - Languages, the Dutch language pack was disabled. I enabled it
and restarted Firefox: Firefox is now completely Dutch. Yay! :-)
@Andreas Jaeger: I'm not reusing a home directory: the installation is
absolutely clean. No copied previous settings whatsoever.
I dislike upgrading old systems, so I always do a completely clean
installation. I don't even have a separate home partition, for that reason.
By the way, may I ask your attention for another localization related issue? In
The Netherlands, 99 % of all keyboards nowadays are US. Unfortunately, for
unknown reasons, the Dutch layout has died long ago: those keyboards have
disappeared from the stores.
So the installer proposes a "US international" keyboard setting when you choose
Dutch as installation language. So far so good, but it *should* propose "US
International with dead keys", like e.g. Microsoft Windows and Ubuntu do.
Otherwise we can't type accents. Wir haben weniger davon als unsere deutsche
Nachbarn, aber genug um "dead keys" zu brauchen... I know how to hack this
layout setting after installation, but it would be better if the installer does
it right straightaway.
