The directory with your image description (config.xml and others) is this the same directory you named as $somerootdir ? I'm asking this because if you want to build an image you need to specify the directory where your config.xml or *.kiwi lives along with the -p | --prepare option when calling kiwi. If this directory is always the same as $somerootdir we don't need an extra option to specify it.
