http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=629385 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=629385#c0 Summary: gnome-do is autostarted under KDE4 (which triggers tracker to start) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: vkrevs@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.3 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/6.0.472.25 Safari/534.3 After upgrade to 11.3 from 11.2, I logged on into KDE4 and ended up with beagle, strigi, and tracker all running simultaneously. Which made the machine unsuable for more than 20 minutes (and it's a laptop with an Intel Core2 Duo 2.Ghz, 4GB RAM, and a 7200 rpm hdd) .. There issue was reported here first: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2010-08/msg00406.html /etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-do.desktop does not have an OnlyShowIn=GNOME; or NotShowIn=KDE; element, hence gnome-do gets autostarted by KDE, and gnome-do seems to trigger tracker to start under KDE. Please alter the gnome-do.desktop file so it is not started under KDE.
