Since your patch is a hack which breaks specifications, I'm not surprised they refused to incorporate it. I do not know what kind of hardware players you are talking about which cannot read id3v2 tags. I have now checked, my mp3 player is perfectly capable of displaying Cyrillic characters in id3v2.4 encoded mp3 file. Wouldn't it be easier to write a script which takes CP1251 encoded tags from id3v1 and converts them to UTF and inserts them into id3v2 tags? Or even better, not creating mp3 files with only id3v1 tags in the first place. Or am I guessing right, that there are many CP1251 encoded id3v1 tagged mp3 files on Russian file-sharing sites? Other than this, I cannot understand why you are not trying to tackle the problem of the not properly encoded mp3 files and tag them properly. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
