https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=246868 Summary: Fail to recognize CD-ROM drive (/dev/sr0) during installation Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: pgrosbol@eso.org QAContact: jsrain@novell.com I tried to install OpenSuSe 10.3Alpha1 on my PC with a ASUS M2R32-MVP motherboard (with ATI SB600 and JMicron 360 SATA controllers). The CPU is a AMD64 dualcore and the CDROM is attached to the SATA. The BIOS SATA mode was in 'native'. The first installation screen is shown correctly. The initial boot reports: 'PCI: BIOA bug MCFC area at e00000000 is not E820 reserved' I had to use the kernel options 'pci=routeirq irqpoll' to get through the first boot. After this my CDROM drive (/dev/sr0) is not recognized eventhough it is listed under the hardware devices. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
