https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=725523 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=725523#c0 Summary: File /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0 contains bad option Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Beta 1 Platform: All OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Live Medium AssignedTo: coolo@suse.com ReportedBy: Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 The configuration option for a wired network (file /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0) contains the line "STARTMODE='onboot'". Although this is OK for most situations, it fails in the case of someone wanting to use the ifup method to configure a wireless connection using the live media. Changing the line to read "STARTMODE='ifplugd'" will still work for anyone wanting to use a wired connection, but still allow the wireless to be configured and used with ifup. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot Live medium 2. Unplug wired network 3. Actual Results: Wireless network would not work. Expected Results: I should be able to configure the wireless network. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
