well, I don't know the reasons compiz requires libfuse, but splitting that package out of fuse would help there.
Right, that makes sense.
So sshfs would require fuse, the loaded module while compiz requires the library. But that doesn't mean fuse, the loaded module, is in the default selection.
According to compiz changelog, here's the culprit: - FUSE plugin that maps compiz options to a file-system and allow efficient manipulation of options by reading and writing files.
