--- Comment #4 from Susanne Oberhauser
no the real question is: who deleted the packages we had in openSUSE:Tools at some point? because the ruby project wasn't needed in the past.
They were deleted because they were dated relative to factory but not relative to sle10. So the sle10 build target relies on the ruby project, while the factory target doesn't. it would be stupid to copy code. it's like hard linking glibc in, "so it doesn't change": I want it to change. I want to benefit from the patch updates it recieves. but I donÄt want it to break my stuff. Collaboration between projects is not well defined yet, so I don't blame the ruby project to pretend nobody relied on what they are doing (http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-buildservice/2008-06/msg00089.html) Imagine disabling factory 11.0: "we have 11.1 now. nobody should use that anymore." that's how disabling the ruby project is coming accross right now. thx for consideration. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
