https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=745437 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=745437#c0 Summary: No KDE Samba modul in KDE 12.1 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: o.siess@a1.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1 Since opensuse 11.3 the KDE Samba configuration module is hidden. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=608502 This should force users to use the Yast configuration tool. Yast is a really fine tool. And the only reason why i am using opensuse is the real awesome package tool from Yast. BUT: The Samba configuration tool from Yast is not very good. I am missing many configuration options which were available in the KDE Samba tool. And i would appreciate if you would add the KDE Samba tool again to the package kdenetwork4-filesharing. While using opensuse 11.4 it was possible with this workaround to get the KDE Samba module working. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=675429 But since 12.1 the module is completely missing, so the above mentioned workaround isn´t longer working. New workaround: Download and install the kdenetwork package from 11.4 and then just follow the steps from above mentioned link. http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.4/repo/oss/suse/x86_64/kdenetwo... As a user i want to have the freedom to decide which module i use to do a certain work. You also don´t block the kdepartitionmanager nor Kgrub?? Yast has the same modules and they don´t get blocked!!! I am not asking here for world peace, just for a kdenetwork-filesharing package with KDE Samba in it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.install opensuse 12.1 2.notice that kde samba is missing 3. Actual Results: It is possible with a workaround to get the KDE Samba module working. Expected Results: KDE Samba should be again part of the package kdenetwork-filesharing -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
