Only way to recover is by logging out from the keyboard using Ctrl+Backspace+Backspace. Even the taskbar disappears and only the background remains visible. Occurs around once every day, but not everytime. More frequent with Compiz enabled. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open any moderately/highly CPU intensive program, example BMP on GIMP / HD video on VLC. 2.Press Alt+F4. Actual Results: All icons, taskbars disappeared. No response to any mouse/keyboard gesture except Ctrl+Backspace+Backspace. Expected Results: Switch to desktop or background program.
