http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1064542 Bug ID: 1064542 Summary: Application of software updates after fresh install Leap 42.3 on 2017-10-22 and Software Lost Wireless Network Connectivity Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.3 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: foolishewe@hotmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hello All: Yesterday, I got a new laptop (an HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-bl1XX, Product Number: Z4Z38UA#ABA). managed to dual boot Windows 10 and OpenSuse Leap 42.3 on it and the network interface worked out of the box, the adapter hardware is (according to Windows 10) Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265. I then went to yast and accepted all software updates and it did the traditional zypper refresh and then refreshed the packages as expected. I use KNetwork Manager to configure network access. However after reboot, the wifi connection no longer establishes with my home router, I get prompted for my kwallet password, it tries to configure and but does not appear to succeed, and goes into a prompt/configure loop. I've tried other working networks in my home too, so I don't think this is the router's fault. My questions are: 1)Does the adapter problem sound like a known issue? Is there a workaround/fix? 2) I could use some education on reading the new systemd logs, I'm having trouble finding useful error messages. Which log would have them, and is there a way to do something equivalent to the tail -f /var/log/messages so I can see/capture new log output as I'm trying to connect. 3) Other issues that aren't as important, but since I'm asking: 3a)Firefox would not launch out of the box, but did launch after the updates. 3b) Fonts are quite small on the 4kUHD screen, any idea if there is a setting for me to tweak to scale them? Thanks for your help. Bill -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
