Google for "nvidia PixmapCache kde" and you will find lots of users complaining about graphics performance loss over time. For example look for this text: " This effect is temporarily cured if I "flush" Pixmap Cache with the following commands: nvidia-settings -a PixmapCache=0 nvidia-settings -a PixmapCache=1 " in http://www.poweradded.net/2011/06/nvidia-support-sucks.html This is going on for years, and it seems that nvidia support doesn't care much. Really bad. The only solution is to add the above nvidia-settings stuff to a cron job as a poor workaround. BTW: this happens for me with GeForce 8600M GT and a GeForce 7800 GTX too. Latest 290.10 driver. It can be tested best with long slashdot threads. In Firefox you will see the performance degradation after a few times scolling up and down. I also submitted issue #101031-000091 in the nvidia bug tracker "Nvidia Driver Feedback". Not even a reponse. Maybe you folks at Suse/Novell can kick some butt at nvidia. This would be highly appreciated. thanks! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
