https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=456809 Summary: New Kernal 2.26.27.7-4.4-pae Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: i586 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Klaus.Fischer@dfki.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other Today a new kernel (2.26.27.7-4.4-pae) was released for SuSE 11.1. After installing it the boot process gets stuck because the kernel complains that it cannot find file: /lib/modules/2.6.27.7-4-pae/modules.dep Stupid thing is that this file just happens to sit at this place. I did not manage to find out what I could do to get the system booting up properly again. Luckily the update did not destroy my SuSE 11.0 installation, so I am back now to using this. It is unfortunate that the system is actually spoiled because I cannot afford to do a re-installation (especially not with the perspective that an update will again let the boot procedure stop). So if you dont provide a solution to this on the Web page, I think I will have to sit and wait for the gold master. BTW: At least I thought that the step from KDE 4.0 to 4.1 would be an improvement but it is actually not ...
