What we need at this very beginning stage is to get the sound driver working in any form. So, as a primary test, please test with aplay, arecord and speaker-test programs. Once after we confirm they work fine, we can test other applications. The problem of mplayer and VLC may be application errors and likely irrelervant if aplay works. The problem of device permission has nothing to do with this bug at all. So, let's make the bug clear and don't pollute / mislead. Tests with aplay is easy. Try like aplay -Ddefault:2 -vv some-your-wav-file.wav If pulseaudio is involved with this default setup, try like aplay -Dplughw:2 -vv somefile.wav (Here I suppose the device #2 corresponding to Xonar. Check /proc/asound/cards.) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
