After upgrading from 10.1 to 10.2, cups ceased to work as expected.
Same thing here, on an AMD64 machine. [...]
The only "workaround" so far is to add to following to /etc/hosts.allow: cupsd : ALL Then just a few error messages (...refused...) are logged at cupsd startup.
I've found this to work for me, in hosts.allow cupsd: UNKNOWN : ALLOW (I guess that the last ": ALLOW" could be omitted). I think that the problem is due to the fact that non-TCP connections to CUPS have to pass through a TCP wrapper. The proof to this is that the problem can be exploited launching "lpq", that connects to CUPS using the local socket in /var/run/cups/cups.sock (you can check it with strace).
So far I've found just this reference regarding this bug: http://www.mail-archive.com/opensuse@opensuse.org/msg20044.html
