Well, from my understanding of http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd/Incompatibilities is the /sbin/service intended to work under systemd as well. I discussed it shortly with pm-utils upstream, but they wants to stay with /sbin/service, even they are RH guys.
