https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=870479 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=870479#c0 Summary: Yast-samba is unable to update remote openldap config Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: yast2-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: romain.pelissier@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.0 I have 2 boxes, with opensuse 13.1 up to date. On one box (box1) I have configured an openldap server using yast. On another one (box2), I have installed samba and wanted to configure it to be a PDC and use my box1 openldap has user and password backend. Whenever I try to configure samba, the ldap on bax1 is never updated/populated with samba schema information. Log on samba server says: smbd version 4.1.6-3.18.1-3208-SUSE-oS13.1-x86_64 started. We cannot work reliably without it. [2014/03/26 16:42:18.469624, 0] ./source3/passdb/pdb_interface.c:178(make_pdb_method_name) pdb backend ldapsam:ldap://box1.domain.lan did not correctly init (error was NT_STATUS_CANT_ACCESS_DOMAIN_INFO) Note that I have tried to remove and reinstall openldap on box1, samba client and server one box2 several times. Note also that, it seems to work the first time the setup is done, after that, whatever I try to reconfigure, I cannot have the ldap backend populated with the samba infos. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have openldap configured using yast on box1 2. have samba configued using yast on box2 3. Use ldap backup for samba, configure LDAP and so on (test is ok) Actual Results: The ldap db is not populated with samba schema and so samba is not working s expected Expected Results: tried to remove openldap, samba, samba client packages and files (remaining files and configuration files), reinstalled a "brand new" config for both server and stil have the ldap not populated -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
