I expect the problem may be that rfkill continually lists acer-wireless as softblocked even if I run rfkill unblock all. I have RTL8188CE wireless card that was helped to work using compat-wireless. I have a lenovo thinkpad e420. Based on something I read on google I thought it was possible that the settings were getting updated from bios or something somewhere else. If I run rfkill event in one window and run rfkill unblock all in the other, I can see the softblock go away for a moment. linux-plg7:/home/adam # rfkill event 1314809930.605340: idx 0 type 1 op 0 soft 1 hard 0 1314809930.605374: idx 1 type 1 op 0 soft 0 hard 0 1314809949.285401: idx 0 type 1 op 2 soft 0 hard 0 1314809949.285430: idx 1 type 1 op 2 soft 0 hard 0 1314809950.190941: idx 0 type 1 op 2 soft 1 hard 0 1314810042.076398: idx 0 type 1 op 2 soft 0 hard 0 1314810042.076444: idx 1 type 1 op 2 soft 0 hard 0 1314810042.190735: idx 0 type 1 op 2 soft 1 hard 0 otherwindow: rfkill unblock all . . . Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.try to enable wireless using knetworkmanager, fails 2.try to 'rfkill unblock all' acer-wireless stays soft blocked Actual Results: unable to use wireless via knetworkmanager unable to un soft block acer-wireless via rfkill Expected Results: acer-wireless should have unblocked. I should be able to use knetworkmanager. I'm not sure what else you need or where to get it. Please let me know and I'll do my best. This is not an area I am terribly familiar with. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
