https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=426597 Summary: Triggering the manual fsck during a system upgrade kills the final upgrade phase. Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: robin.listas@telefonica.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- I recently upgraded my normal system from 10.3 to 11.0, using your complimentary retail DVD. During the first boot of the upgrade process, the "/etc/init.d/boot.localfs" script stopped bootup, because of an error in the fstab file made some partitions not mountable, and it left the system in rescue mode. I edited the line in error (a line that was correct for 10.3 was not so for 11.0), rebooted, and again it found another error. Corrected, rebooted... But the final part of the installation/upgrade did not proceed. Yast did not fire, there was no automatic installation of updated packages, no prompt to read the updated installations notes, no hardware configuration... nada. I was left at the system prompt. My guess is that the flag file that is used to trigger the final phase was deleted too early. The system is working correctly, as far as I know, but... this is a bug. IMO. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
