https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=234533 Summary: bcm43xx fails for PCI-E (BCM4311 and BCM4312) versions Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net QAContact: qa@suse.de The bcm43xx wireless driver in 2.6.18.2-34 does not recognize nor work with PCI-E versions of the device, which includes the BCM4311 and BCM4312. The popular Dell Wireless 1390 mini-PCI-E card is one example of the BCM4311. Patches for this deficiency will not be added to mainline 2.6.18 as it is a feature, not a bug; however, a patch is available at ftp://lwfinger.dynalias.org/patches/patch_2.6.18.1_for_PCI-E to fix this problem. This fix will be in 2.6.20. Additional patches that will also support a radio-enable switch and the associated LED are 'patch_2.6.18.1_fix_leds' and 'radio_hwenable_for_2.6.18', which should be applied in that order. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
