Machine only has 144M RAM (the max supported by chipset :-( ) so as expected the install stops early with 'not enough RAM - please activate swap space'. So I found a terminal (Alt-F10) and tried to do so - but the hard disc is not visible, this is the same driver issue as the original problem. Loading the driver manually with "modprobe ide-generic" brings it up, "swapon /dev/hda1" activates (pre-existing) swap space and install continues. At the mid-install re-boot stage I expected the same problem, but was pleasantly surprised to see that the driver _is_ loaded as required, install appears to have completed successfully. Do you want a fresh bug for the swap activation problem or to treat it as the same issue? It could be covered as part of the FAQs for old hardware, though IMHO the driver should be already loaded... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
