I'd really much rather run the free drivers than the non-free ones. However, the non-free (G01, the right driver for my card) does not work. The only message I get is this, when the kernel module is loaded. Dec 19 08:20:02 (none) kernel: mtrr: base(0xd5000000) is not aligned on a size(0xe00000) boundary Dec 19 08:20:16 (none) kernel: nvidia: module license 'NVIDIA' taints kernel. Dec 19 08:20:16 (none) kernel: Symbol init_mm is marked as UNUSED, however this module is using it. Dec 19 08:20:16 (none) kernel: This symbol will go away in the future. Dec 19 08:20:16 (none) kernel: Please evalute if this is the right api to use and if it really is, submit a report the linux kerne l mailinglist together with submitting your code for inclusion. Dec 19 08:20:16 (none) kernel: NVRM: The NVIDIA probe routine was not called for 1 device(s). Dec 19 08:20:16 (none) kernel: NVRM: No NVIDIA graphics adapter probed! When I try to use G02, the kernel module loads but then X itself fails (I don't have the message handy, but the card I have is for G01 not G02): Dec 18 23:22:56 worklaptop kernel: mtrr: base(0xd5000000) is not aligned on a size(0xe00000) boundary Dec 18 23:22:59 worklaptop kernel: mtrr: no MTRR for d5000000,e00000 found Dec 18 23:23:26 worklaptop kernel: nvidia: module license 'NVIDIA' taints kernel. If I log in via ssh, the 'X' process is consuming 100%. An strace of both X threads shows one thread doing *nothing* and the other thread stuck in select. Thus, the 100% is *all* userland (no syscalls). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
