https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=286531#c3 --- Comment #3 from David Walker <David.Walker@ucop.edu> 2007-06-22 12:06:58 MST --- Interesting question with an answer I didn't expect. The D620 has a Intel Core 2 T7200 processor, which is, apparently, 64-bit. I took defaults when I installed the system, and got:
uname -a Linux dwlaptop 2.6.18.8-0.3-default #1 SMP Tue Apr 17 08:42:35 UTC 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
so I believe it's running in 32-bit mode. Maybe I'll try building the system in 64-bit mode some time. I'll attached the output of Yast2's Hardware Information module, in case there are any other questions about the configuration. Also, I scanned the BIOS settings and saw that Execute Disable (XD) was enabled. It seemed unlikely that would cause a problem, but I turned it off. Since then, I've tried a few suspend/resume cycles that have worked, but I've seen this before. I'll do more testing later and let you know what I find. I did notice that pm-suspend.log (which I'll attach) didn't have the illegal instruction, but I suspect I wasn't always getting it before, either. Thanks for helping out with this. It's been years since I've used a debugger like gdb, so at least it'll be nostalgic if we get to that. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
