https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=812479 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=812479#c0 Summary: Run Update on Installation First Configuration Crashes When Uninstalling yast2-installation-parts Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bwayson@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0 When installing openSUSE 12.3, after the first reboot and during the "run update now" part of the First Configuration, the update proceedeed as expected until it crashed when it said it was removing a package similar to yast2-installation-parts. This repeated twice after rebooting and continuing First Configuration. The second time, I tried to "keep" this package that was set for removal, but it reverted to "delete", and the PC crashed as this package was being deleted. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Fresh install of openSUSE 12.3 2. Get to the "run update now" part of the First Configuration part of installation (on or around March 29, 2013 PDT?) 3. Choose to update now and accept all updates being offered. Actual Results: The installation and PC crash and become unresponsive. Expected Results: For the update to complete, and for the First Configuration phase to continue on to the Release Notes step. I offer my services on troubleshooting this if you'd like. Otherwise, I will continue the installation and choose to not run the updates during First Configuration. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
