https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=386539 Summary: Upgrading 10.3 to 11.0: Installation DVD shown as repo '10.3'; leading to all sorts of havoc ;) Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: christian.jaeger@rub.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- When upgrading an openSUSE 10.3 installation to 11.0 with the DVD (i386), a list of the deprecated openSUSE 10.3 repos wil be shown (whyever that...) as deactivated, and the single active install source shown is the local DVD. But this DVD shows up as version 10.3 (possibly due to the name of the local installation media in the old 10.3 installation). This confused me a bit and led me to deactivate it. Consequently no installable packages were found by the installer. Now, going back and activating the DVD as an install source had two curious consequences: 1) the name of the DVD was now correctly shown as '11.0' 2) still no installable packages were found --> I abortet the installation and started over Please don't let the installer show install sources from a previous installation at all; it is no use and confusing. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
