In our case we are using /dev/fd0u1440 But nobody has permissions to do anything with it since it is b--------- A normal end user application can not change these premissions. Correct behavior would be that the user, which is logged in the desktop, has the permission to read/write to such devices. This worked on previous verions of SUSE.
