https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=428135 Summary: No internet connection/no loopback Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Factory Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: pilotgi@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: pilotgi@gmail.com Found By: --- Just installed 11.1 Beta1 and I can't get an internet connection. NetworkManager says I'm connected via eth0 and I have an ip address but still can't get online. The result of ifconfig eth0 shows no lo/loopback: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:17:31:6F:3C:02 inet addr:193.168.1.125 Bcast: 192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr; fe80::217:31ff:fe6f:3c02/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:45 errors:0 TX packets:105 errors:0 RX bytes:8430 TX bytes:23805 Interrupt:23 Base address:0x8000 I believe that lo/loopback is usually the first line of the output from the ifconfig command. ip a does list lo in line 1: (some lines deleted cause I'm typing this by hand) 1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 16436 qdisc noqueue state UNKOWN link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00 inet6 ::1/128 scope host valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever Nothing is being written to /etc/resolv.conf. var/log/NetworkManager is too long to retype here. Here is one line from dmesg that I'm not sure if it means anything: SFW2-INext-DROP-DEFLT IN=eth0 OUT=MAC=SRC=192.168.1.126 DST=224.0.0.251 LEN=64 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=255 ID=0 DF PROTO=UDP SPT=5353 DPT=5353 LEN=44 Also, I'm still having the same problem with my wireless connection as in bug 421638. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
