https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=733219 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=733219#c0 Summary: The GNOME shell extension gnome-shell-extension-gajim does not work. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: grantbourque@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 The purpose of the extension gnome-shell-extension-gajim is to integrate the Jabber front-end application Gajim with GNOME shell. Even after this extension was enabled and a Gajim client was running, the extension did not appear. I tested using the program with and without the extension being enabled and noticed no difference in shell appearance. The application is actually pretty well integrated into shell in the first place (notifications, status, etc), so the extension might be obsolete at this and need to be removed. I can only test this with a Gajim client that I built from the most recent source code because Gajim is not included in the openSUSE 12.1 repository, which could also be a potential reason for why the extension does not work. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Gajim from source (gajim.org) 2. Setup a Jabber account and test using the program 3. Install gnome-shell-extension-gajim from the openSUSE 12.1 repositories. 4. Reboot 5. Run "Advanced Settings" (or gnome-tweak-tool) 6. Enable the Gajim extension 7. Run Gajim and test using the program with the extension enabled Actual Results: There was no difference I could tell from running Gajim with the extension. Expected Results: I don't know exactly what the intention of the extension is because there is no documentation on it that I could see and no screenshots. However, the source code for the extension suggests that it provides some sort of interface for the client in the shell and handles notifications. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
