https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=396117 Summary: "xkblayout basic" in xorg.conf causes to block ctrl-alt- backspace (abort) and ctrl-alt+f1-f6 (switch) Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: RC 1 Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: belphegor@belbel.or.jp QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer [problem] After running sax2 in Japanese keyboard system, the following config line will be added to Xorg.conf.
Option "XkbVariant" "basic"
But it causes the X.org system to prevent ctrl-alt-(any) keyboard shortcut. i.e. ctrl-alt-backspace, ctrl-alt-f1(to f6) does not work in this configuration. [behavior in another version] openSUSE 10.3 version does not seems to add "Option "XkbVariant" "basic"" although variant=basic selected in sax2. I think that sax2 in openSUSE 10.3 works right, in openSUSE 11.0 works bad. [workaround] Deleting or commenting out the following line resolves it. (of cource, you should restart X.org)
Option "XkbVariant" "basic"
