However, it only writes a new vconsole.conf with the .gz suffix removed if it's not a systemd system. The 00systemd module copies vconsole.conf as-is instead. However, the ".gz" suffix shouldn't be used in /etc/vconsole.conf in the first place, it works better without it. loadkeys itself tries all compression suffixes by itself already.
