https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=828764 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=828764#c0 Summary: Zypper hangs when executing any search/update/install operation Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mpiermarini@suse.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- This is a newly installed 12.3 system with text mode only. It boots via EFI. I was able to do a few zypper installations but now it doesn't work properly. Rebooting does not help. The only way I get it to work is by using the "--disable-system-resolvables" option. A co-worker suggested that during our debugging. In my case, zypper executes (normally?) if I disable the "openSUSE-12.3-Update" repository. I've tried removing and re-adding that repository exactly as it is named (i.e. no changes). I have also tried using a different name, different URL, etc. Local caches have been cleaned and the RPM database has been rebuilt to no avail. When zypper hangs, the last entry in /var/log/zypper.log is below. At that point I have to hit CTRL+C twice to cancel. 2013-07-06 04:49:15 <1> linux-6fu4(9287) [zypp] SATResolver.cc(solving):457 ...Solver end When it successfully completed, I saw the following: 2013-07-06 04:47:47 <1> linux-6fu4(9237) [zypp] SATResolver.cc(solving):457 ...Solver end 2013-07-06 04:47:47 <1> linux-6fu4(9237) [zypp] SATResolver.cc(resolvePool):783 SATResolver::resolvePool() done. Ret:1 A few others have run into the same issue. See https://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/install-boot-log... I am unsure how to reproduce this since I thought it was a generic install and have successfully installed 12.3 before. I can provide the zypper.log archive. Access to system is possible, too... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
