http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=621974 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=621974#c0 Summary: /etc/init.d/postgresql fails to start pgsql Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: RC 1 Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: n5xwb@comcast.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 I have manually started postgresql by using "su - postgres" and the command line. However, your start script fails because the directory is wrong and it just fails. I believe that /var/lib/pgsql/data is good but your script i believe has it postgres/data. I may be wrong on the directory Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.At bootup 2.PGsql - failed 3.Login: and Password Actual Results: cd /etc/init.d/ - next "./postgresql start" as root it fails and requests user postgres. Expected Results: It fails - no pg process This has been a on going problem. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
