We will be focusing both on automatic tweaks to the existing UI for smaller screens (netbooks), and also will be designing a new media center style UI that will be preferred for most activities on these smaller devices. As for the Crash/Freeze in comment #4, it's unrelated to this bug, but is likely fixed for RC1. It's been entered many times as a bug already.
