But sometimes it is completely missing or sometimes you can only save settings for a queue but not a default queue. For example I tried out Gimp. I have the Gutenprint printer driver package installed which provides an additional print dialog for Gimp via the gutenprint-gimpplugin RPM. Gimp's own print dialog does not provide a "save" functionality (at least on first glance I didn't find one). In contrast Gutenprint's additional print dialog for Gimp provides both "print and save settings" and "save settings" and a somewhat uncommon kind of "default queue" setting: Via "setup printer" one can select the queue which is used by Gutenprint's additional print dialog for Gimp so that this results a default queue setting only for Gutenprint's additional print dialog. I.e. it depends on the particular printing dialog which functionality is available. Therefore if a particular functionality is missing, separated enhancement requests for each particular printing dialog would be needed. Of course a "Common Printing Dialog" for all applications could solve the mess but unfortunately its development is currently stuck, see http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/plan-comp... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
