Ok. So apparently this kernel option freezes your machine. Then I'm afraid you need to live with fbdev driver on your about 20 years old machine. Please uninstall xf86-video-openchrome package and restart your system.

And then let's hope there is still a generic framebuffer /dev/fb0 with your preferred mode 1280x720. hwinfo --framebuffer -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
