https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=223625 ------- Comment #1 from bk@novell.com 2007-02-01 05:54 MST ------- I guess that the crash is triggered by a message which has been saved to your sent-mail folder some time after it worked at first, when it started to crash when opening it. Your index-rule works here fine and I think that it would be a very good default setting for this rule entry. The origin of index-rules is a patch by Eduardo Chappa: http://www.math.washington.edu/~chappa/pine/info/rules.html But I did not see an update from him regarding a crash with index-rules defined. Can you make a copy of the sent-mail folder which makes this index-rule crash and remove e.g. the newer sent mails frim it which were saved to it after it started crashing. You can then also create a copy of your .pinerc where index-rules is defined and active for the name of the copied sent-mail folder and check if pine crashes with that folder using: pine -x .pinerd.index-rules -f sent-mail.crashes Maybe you can then delete any old messages which possibly are not needed for the crash to occur, then you could isolate the crash possibly to a single message, which you could send to me confidentially. Maybe a long subject or recipient line triggers the crash or a combination of mails, but I would assume that it should be a single mail. If I can reproduce it with your sent-mail folder, I could do that filtering also if you have no time for that. Alternatively you can also address Eduardo Chappa directly, if the crash happens also with a pine which only has his patches applied. Updating the rules patch might theoretically help, bug 223629 tracks that possible improvement. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
