And the second laptop has the same wireless card?
The first Laptop has a 2200BG (Dell X1) and the second one has a 2915ABG (Dell D810), the NICs are quite similar and use the same driver. (Just wanted to exclude a hardware problem)
Does NM attempt to reconnect and fails or does NM not even try to reconnect?
Yes it tries reconnect at 23:07. At 23:47 I try to manually reconnect clicking on the SSID in nm-applet: /var/log/wpa_supplicant: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED - Disconnect event - remove keys No network configuration found for the current AP CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED - Disconnect event - remove keys Trying to associate with 00:14:a4:23:e8:d0 (SSID='xxxxxxx' freq=2427 MHz) Associated with 00:14:a4:23:e8:d0 CTRL-EVENT-EAP-STARTED EAP authentication started CTRL-EVENT-EAP-METHOD EAP vendor 0 method 21 (TTLS) selected OpenSSL: tls_connection_handshake - Failed to read possible Application Data error:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0) CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED - Disconnect event - remove keys Authentication with 00:00:00:00:00:00 timed out. /var/log/NetworkManager : ------------------------- Jun 8 23:02:32 linux-n4op NetworkManager: <info> Activation (eth1/wireless): connection 'Auto xxxxxxx' has security, and secrets exist.
