Stewart, you probably need to attach the crash report. Here's information on getting a useful one:
http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:KDE#Useful_Crash_Reports
It may also be that you should report it direct to KDE as per this:
http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:KDE#Report_at_bugzilla.novell.com_or_bugs.kde.or...
This can be done directly with the crash reporter.
Post a link to the bug here is you do report it upstream at kde.
Cheers Steve
Steve, Thanks for looking at this. I was mainly using Okular to look at bus timetables. I have just tried a couple of pdf's and they opened. When the crashes happen there is no trace data or report. I have seen these before with other programs. The first time this happened after I installed patch updates with yast. I formatted the root partition and did a new install keeping the home directory in tact to save it's data, preferences, ktorrent info etc. The bus timetables were opening and readable. I started to install security patches did a kernel upgrade and put some yast patches in. Then the bus timetables started to fail. I have attached one for you to look at in case I have suffered file corruption which I don't think is the problem. The HDD is a WD raptor formatted with reiser. If there is something I can install to get more trace infe please let me know. When I get the time I will reinstall and try to identify the patch causing it.
