[Bug 309197] Beta3 clicking on "suspend to disk" has no effect

I wanted to avoid swap related HD activity to gain performance and I thought I compensated for lack of swap with having 4GB RAM. 1. Would be nice to be able to suspend to a file on a designated partition. 2. If 1. is too much dev for the limited time then is there way to have swap used ONLY FOR SUSPEND but not during normal operation?
