https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=472268 Summary: Introduce Wen Quan Yi Chinese fonts Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bgn66922@163.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/4.2; Linux) KHTML/4.2.0 (like Gecko) SUSE As the non-free Founder fonts are removed since openSUSE 11.1, openSUSE is lack of good-looking Simplified Chinese fonts. Wen Quan Yi (http://wqy.sourceforge.net/en/) project provides some opensource Chinese fonts such as "Zen Hei", a.k.a Sans-Serif (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=128192&package_id=242056) and "Bitmap Song", a.k.a Serif (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=128192&package_id=156288) These fonts have better appearance than current Arphic fonts. Therefore openSUSE could include them and use "Zen Hei" as default Simplified Chinese font. As far as I know, some other major linux distributions like Fedora, Ubuntu and Mandriva also use "Zen Hei" as default.
