https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=746609 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=746609#c2 --- Comment #2 from Heiko Nardmann <heiko.nardmann@itechnical.de> 2012-02-18 16:30:25 UTC --- I have yesterday installed OpenSuSE 12.1 on a new Lenovo W520 with F5521gw inside, too. Similar problems: the NetworkManager is not able to create a connection. What is different to the bug report of Richard is that I get the message "SIM not inserted" which is absolutely wrong since I have booted Win 7 just before that without problems with the WWAN and the SIM. I am going to attach my NetworkManager log file. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open NetworkManager 2. Click on "T-mobile (D1)" 3. See state change from "Nicht verbunden -> Verbindung wird vorbereitet" (not connected -> connection gets prepared) 4. See state change to "Nicht verbunden" again. Bugs to fix: a) give user feedback why the connection did not succeed (although my error message inside the log is wrong) b) let connection preparation succeed Question: is some kind of additional firmware needed? I have seen that (for Windows) Lenovo offers firmware upgrades for F5521gw. Problem: this is just an executable which does not unpack the firmware separately. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
