I have installed with Yast the rfkill utility, but if I try to run as root the 'rfkill list all' command I get the following message: Can't open RFKILL control device: No such file or directory
It's Ralink, which works fine with the driver from [3]. This means the rfkill interface has not been created. This also explains why NetworkManager (NM) is not notified about the wlan adapter being switched off. Could you try and install the devel_kernel pattern [2], download the tarball [4] from [3] and try to build and install the driver. The source is GPL, but not compatible with the kernel.org, therefor it's not included in the kernel. Don't hesitate to ask if some info is missing, or you have problems to build the driver.
