http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=580862 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=580862#c0 Summary: dirty_writeback_centisecs settings not used from /etc/sysctl.conf Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: mobile-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: novellnervt@squealer.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux; de-DE) AppleWebKit/532.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) rekonq Safari/532.4 I had tried to tweak some settings for the SSD (lost one already) life, but cannot set the dirty_writeback_centisecs to a permanent value. /etc/sysctl.conf: vm.dirty_writeback_centisecs = 15000 does not work, also a script in /etc/pm/sleep.d with an entry of echo 15000 > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_writeback_centisecs isn't working, after suspend, the value is always set back to 500. Found some google advises with the "laptop-tools", but that seems not to be the case anymore. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. echo 15000 > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_writeback_centisecs 2. s2ram 3. cat /proc/sys/vm/dirty_writeback_centisecs Actual Results: 500 Expected Results: 15000 don't take notice bout the email address, i was bored about the registration process long time ago and cannot change it anymore... ;-) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
