http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1095555 Bug ID: 1095555 Summary: HiKey 960 hangs in UEFI - removable media not detected? Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: aarch64 URL: https://bugs.96boards.org/show_bug.cgi?id=741 OS: openSUSE Factory Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader Assignee: jsrain@suse.com Reporter: afaerber@suse.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com CC: agraf@suse.com, mchang@suse.com, rw@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- On my HiKey 960 board with EDK2 bootloader I succeeded to bootstrap into Tumbleweed by using GRUB2 from an installation .iso plus JeOS-rootfs tarball extracted to SD card. /etc/sysconfig/bootloader has LOADER_TYPE="grub2-efi". Running yast bootloader creates /boot/efi/EFI/opensuse/grubaa64.efi and adds an "opensuse" entry in efibootmgr, despite this being a removable SD card. This then leads to next boot still showing the old EFI/BOOT/bootaa64.efi GRUB2 menu. Removing that EFI/BOOT/bootaa64.efi, their EDK2 appears to hang: https://bugs.96boards.org/show_bug.cgi?id=741 Copying EFI/opensuse/grubaa64.efi as EFI/BOOT/bootaa64.efi restores boot. How to debug why we are not treating it as removable medium in the first place? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
