https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847406 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847406#c0 Summary: in virtualbox VM: reconfig of dual nic vm fails, eth0 becomes rename2, eth1 not configured or visible, eth0 not configured. perhaps something with double mac address ? Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rens.groenewegen@xs4all.nl QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=564757) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=564757) yast2 log User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 I cloned the VM from node1 into node2 with virtualbox. I did forget to check the re-initialize MAC address. Eth0 is configured with dhcp and is configured properly. when i try to configure the eth1, it fails without yast saying so. worse, I now have a rename2 which has the config of eth0, eth0 is vaporized and eth1 is not initalized...... The same happened with a second clone. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.see above 2. 3. Actual Results: when i try to configure the eth1, it fails without yast saying so. worse, I now have a rename2 which has the config of eth0, eth0 is vaporized and eth1 is not initalized...... Expected Results: should have configured eth1 and leave eth0 alone. if the double mac address is the problem, then it should have refused to configure eth1, report that to the user and in all cases, leave eth0 alone. btw, rename2 interface does work..... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
