https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=406117 Summary: Update-config is confusing for noob users Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bart.otten85@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Goodday all, openSUSE 11.0 is a huge succes and a lot of my Windows-friends are giving it a try. I heard a lot of complains about the update-config where a list of (community) repositories are shown. For people that know the system of repositories it is 'crystal clear' but net users don't understand it. They are confronted with a list that does not explain anything about the repositories. X11:XGL << What's that? Should I use it? It would be better if there was some information about the repo's and which one are usefull for 'normal' users. Just like we give information about RPM-packages in Software Install. It doesn't have to be technical correct as long as it it usefull for Joe Average. X11:XGL - Experimental version of the graphicsystem of openSUSE Regards, Bart -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
